The opening of And we thought | FOOD DATA DIGESTION is on June 17th, in the spaces of Combo Turin, at 6 p.m. The opening to the public of the work of Roberto Fassone, designed in collaboration with Sineglossa, will be introduced by the talk But do androids dream of electric sheep?, dedicated to the encounter between art and Artificial Intelligence, which will see the artist in dialogue with Valentina Tanni (editor), Andrea Zaninello (creative technologist) and Federico Bomba (director of Sineglossa).

And we thought is the site-specific work resulting from the encounter between Roberto Fassone and Ai Lai, an artificial intelligence programmed by Andrea Zaninello and “fed” with thousands of psychedelic travel reports collected during his residency period at Libreria Bodoni / Spazio B. The work is made within the framework of 𝙁𝙊𝙊𝘿 𝘿𝘼𝙏𝘼 𝘿𝙄𝙂𝙀𝙎𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉, the art and Artificial Intelligence project curated by Sineglossa.

On June 19, within CANTIERI 2022, a week-long masterclass dedicated to the performing arts organized by Play with Food – La scena del cibo, Casa Fools, Earthink festival and Sineglossa, it will also be possible to attendt the presentation of the results of the masterclass Body, Art and Artificial Intelligence: a journey in which nine selected artists from all over Italy conceived an art project with artificial intelligence, accompanied by Roberto Fassone, Andrea Zaninello and Federico Bomba.

And we thought | FOOD DATA DIGESTION is a research and production process combining art and Artificial Intelligence produced and curated by Sineglossa.

The production is set in the context of Play with Food – La scena del cibo, the first national theater and performing arts festival entirely dedicated to food, and the initiative is supported by the collaboration of Bodoni Bookstore / Space B, University of Turin, Combo Turin, KABUL magazine and the gallery Fanta MLN.

The dataset used for Ai Lai’s training comes from Shroomery.org, available in Creative Commons.

And we thought | Food Data Digestion received a grant from the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation as part of the call for proposals “ART~WAVES. For creativity, from the idea to the scene,” which looks at the consolidation of the creative identity of territories through the support of programming in the field of performing arts and contemporary creative production, combining research, production, supply and distribution in an ecosystem logic to strengthen the artistic vocations of the territory.
