Ars Electronica è il centro di sperimentazione su arte, scienza e tecnologia che proprio quest’anno festeggia i suoi primi 25 anni. Un’istituzione all’avanguardia capace di attrarre non solo artistз ma anche ingegnerз, scienziatз, tech company, oltre a università e istituti di ricerca da tutto il mondo, tramite la sua natura ibrida di laboratorio culturale, festival, premio, piattaforma e network.
Con una ricerca che spazia dall’immersione nella realtà virtuale all’interazione dei robot, dal comportamento degli sciami nell’aria all’intelligenza artificiale creativa, Ars Electronica incarna il nostro ecosistema ideale, quel Pianeta B che è l’unica innovazione possibile se vogliamo evitare “il super disastro ecologico” – come racconta il concept scelto per l’edizione di quest’anno.
Abbiamo già esplorato il blog e curiosato nel programma per conoscere in anteprima i progetti che vedremo esposti e i talk, i workshop, gli spettacoli a cui partecipare.
E ad Ars Electronica stiamo portando And We Thought, l’opera nata dalla collaborazione tra Roberto Fassone, AI LAI e Andrea Zaninello, nell’ambito del progetto FOOD DATA DIGESTION. And We Thought è una intelligenza artificiale creativa che nasce dall’introduzione dell’imprevisto nel machine learning: la creatività della macchina non solo aiuta l’essere umano a empatizzare e collaborare con essa, ma apre nuovi scenari nell’uso dell’ia per la previsione del futuro:
We can only predict the future based on our experience or known facts from the past. Predicting “a future” is also one of the core concepts of generative AI systems in the field of text and music generation. What future means in this context is simply the prediction of the next possible element, considering all previous elements in a document or a piece of music. It is also based on the past, existing content and what has been learned during the AI training. A well-trained AI system should be able to handle new situations or conditions that the music or text may be involved in and continue to do so in a satisfactory manner. Similarly, in real life and especially in today’s global and dynamic world, we cannot predict the future by relying only on the past. This is where creativity is needed. Creativity helps us predict not just one future, but many versions of that future. It is still based on the facts of the past, but it gives us a certain plasticity to think and react to different possible developments
