The Ars Electronica Festival
From 6 to 10 September 2023, Linz becomes once again the Europe’s leading center for artists, scientists, developers, designers, entrepreneurs and activists from around the world. Ars Electronica festival, one of the world’s top addresses for media art, science, and technology, hosted since 1979 in Linz, in Austria, and organized by the Ars Electronica cultural center, is back with a new edition revolving around the question “Who owns the truth?”.
Sineglossa had already participated in the festival in 2022 by curating And we thought II, within a program that welcomed more than 953 people from 76 countries, 71,000 visitors, 337 partners, and a total of 425 events over five days.
Same as last year, Sineglossa is joining the festival as a partner curating two exhibition projects and one performance.

Exhibition: Metabolo
by Valerie Tameu, is curated and produced by Sineglossa in collaboration with Play with Food, Free University of Bolzano, Lavanderia a Vapore, as part of Food Data Digestion, a project supported by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo within the fund call ART-WAVES.
Metabolo creates an ecosystem of mutual influence between the human body, artificial machines, and marine ecosystems, in a relationship of multispecies coexistence. With Metabolo, the artist questions the possibility of using technology to promote other forms of intelligence and culture, not only those that are Western or anthropocentric, through the selection of datasets created by certain fish species and the reinterpretation of indigenous practices.

Exhibition: ISOTTA
by Michele Cremaschi, is developed at Computer Science Faculty – Free University of Bolzano as part of his PhD research program. This work was supported by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), – Mission 4, Component 2 – Investment 3.3 – call for tender No. 352 of 09/04/2022 of Italian Ministry of University and Research, funded by the European Commission under the NextGeneration EU programme.Isotta stands as an engaging interactive creation, purposefully crafted to function as a collaborative writing companion within the realm of Twitter. Its unconventional design aims to question established narratives surrounding AI, particularly concerning the notions of collaboration and the impartiality of the artificial agent. Employing a vintage input mechanism, Isotta accentuates the contrasting levels of productivity between its human user and its digital AI counterpart. Importantly, the AI co-writer is anything but impartial; its contributions are tinged with its inherent convictions.
