The “Cara città” Project
Cara Città is an urban, cultural and social regeneration project involving the Prato neighbourhood and the surrounding areas of San Giuseppe. Minonna and Smia, in the city of Jesi, in the Marche region.
The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Jesi, alongside a network of cultural associations active locally: Sineglossa, Arci Jesi-Fabriano, Kar Movimenti Creativi, Ratatà, ACCA Academy, Casa delle Culture and Circolo fotografico Jesino Massimo Ferretti, and made possible thanks to the support of Fondazione Cariverona.
Through the Cara Città project, we will activate an urban space currently unused, located in via Urbani 19, via a participatory process that places residents and creatives at the center to co-plan cultural and social activities. The project fits in the broader path initiated by the Municipality of Jesi to strengthen citizen participation in public life and to create a city capable of responding to the needs of its inhabitants, a path already undertaken through the establishment of Neighborhood Committees.
The “Let’s create a Neighbourhood Album” workshop series
Inside the Cara Città project, KAR Movimenti Creativi and Circolo fotografico Massimo Ferretti organize in Jesi (Ancona), a workshop series on analog photography, writing and poetry to explore our emotional relations with places. We will actively explore the neighbourhoods of Minonna, Smia, San Giuseppe and Prato through collective urban walks. We will read and share materials on the sense of memory, loss, return and finally, on possibilities. The result will lead to a neighborhood album that will be presented in the next edition of the Ratatà Festival, a festival on Illustrations, Comics and Independent Publishing taking place in December of 2025 in Jesi (AN).

Dark Room Experience
📍 Circolo Ferretti, Via Politi 27, Jesi
⭐ With instructors from Circolo Ferretti; activities alternate between theoretical lessons on darkroom techniques and practical experiences in development, scanning, and photographic printing. The class will be split into two groups and participation is required in one of the two weekly sessions (either Tuesday or Thursday, for a total of 3 meetings)

Participation info
Who can participate? Everyone: the pathway is open to all. No prior knowledge or skills in photography or writing are required. You don’t need to own a camera (if you have an analog or Polaroid camera, you can bring it; otherwise you can carry out the activities with materials provided by the organization).
Cost: free
Capacity: 25 total available spots
Attendance: for the workshop to be effective, we ask for participation in at least 60% of the sessions.
