The methodology invites both visitors and long-time inhabitants to discover and rediscover places, by involving communities in writing processes and in the creation of artistic outputs.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The methodology was designed and tested for the<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> capacity-building workshop<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; aimed at strengthening skills, abilities, structures and resources &#8211; led by Sineglossa as part of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sineglossa.it\/en\/projects\/discovery-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discovery Guide<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> project, in collaboration with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/territory.ngo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Terytoriia \/ NGO Territory<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ziemniakii.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fundacja Ziemniakii<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. In this project, we involved<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sineglossa.it\/en\/news-en\/open-call-for-artists-a-discovery-guide-for-ukraine\/#elementor-action%3Aaction%3Dpopup%3Aopen%26settings%3DeyJpZCI6OTA1NiwidG9nZ2xlIjp0cnVlfQ%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> six local and international artists<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a collective writing process with the inhabitants of <\/span><b>Bakota<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a district in southwestern Ukraine, with the aim o<\/span><b>f protecting and telling the story of Ukrainian culture<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a fragile and delicate context.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The application of the Discovery Journey methodology and the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sineglossa.it\/en\/news-en\/the-discovery-guide-art-residency-in-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> artistic residency<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that followed in September 2025 gave the occasion to rise to an alternative travel guide &#8211; inspired by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sineglossa.it\/en\/projects\/nontourism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nontourism <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">series &#8211; dedicated to the Bakota region. The guide, to be published next autumn, will contain the itineraries produced by the artists who worked with local communities, along with content designed for those who want to visit the region
