Degenerativa pushes generative AI beyond its predictable outputs, working through its statistical shortcuts until desirable variants emerge. In this sense, \u201cdegenerating\u201d becomes a way of inhabiting this technology without submitting to it.<\/p><p>Artists are invited to <b>question cultural archives<\/b>, <b>explore the limits of datasets<\/b>, <b>make the biases<\/b> of generative models visible, and turn errors and hallucinations into opportunities for research. Unlike other AI training programs for artists, which focus on learning tools and optimizing creative processes, <b>Degenerativa chooses to work on the friction zones between art and technology<\/b>, not with the aim of taming AI, but of developing artistic practices capable of understanding it, moving through it, and critically reinventing it.<\/p><p>The program will use cultural heritage datasets as raw material: the selected artists will work on digital archives to produce new knowledge through an ethical use of AI, in a collective practice that will offer technical foundations, critical exchange, and sessions with tutors and guests.<\/p><p>Degenerativa Bologna is a project designed by Sineglossa realised in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/dumbospace.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DumBO<\/a> and supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture and SIAE, as part of the \u201cPer Chi Crea\u201d program.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a10d71f elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget-mobile__width-inherit elementor-align-justify elementor-widget elementor-widget-button\" data-id=\"a10d71f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"button.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-button elementor-button-link elementor-size-lg\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/f4sMbA3CJ94UnWBF6\" target=\"_blank\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-button-content-wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-button-text\">Apply now<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-61891d0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"61891d0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>How Degenerativa works<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e8ddc93 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e8ddc93\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The program unfolds in three phases:<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a01. Online <\/strong><b>training<\/b>, October\u2013November 2026<\/p><p>Nine online sessions of two hours each (about 20 hours in total), dedicated to a technical and methodological introduction to the use of generative AI in artistic practice.<br \/><b>Teachers: <\/b>Sei Iturriaga Sauco, Mateusz Miroslaw Lis, together with other guest artists and professionals\u00a0<\/p><p><b>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02. Research development<\/b>, November 2026 \u2013 January 2027<\/p><p>An independent phase of deepening, exchange, and preparation for the residency.<\/p><p><b>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a03. Intensive artistic residency<\/b>: Bologna (DumBO) in January\/February 2027<\/p><p>Five days of residency in which participants will work in groups, alongside the other selected artists, in a collaborative process of research, ideation, and prototyping of a shared project work, with two hours dedicated to the final evaluation.
