The event, promoted by <strong data-start=\"466\" data-end=\"503\">Fondazione Gramsci Emilia-Romagna<\/strong> in collaboration with <strong data-start=\"526\" data-end=\"540\">Sineglossa<\/strong>, offered an interdisciplinary reflection on the challenges that artificial intelligence poses to the legal system of intellectual property, with particular attention to the concept of authorship.\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"1467\">This meeting was conceived as a theoretical and legal deep dive around <a href=\"https:\/\/sineglossa.it\/en\/projects\/ai-manifesta\/\"><strong data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"863\">AI MANIFESTA<\/strong><\/a>, a project by artists <strong data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"905\">Francesco D\u2019Isa<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"910\" data-end=\"928\">Chiara Moresco<\/strong>, curated by Sineglossa and Fondazione Gramsci. The project uses Artificial Intelligence as a lens that <em data-start=\"1032\" data-end=\"1043\">manifests<\/em>\u2014that is, makes visible\u2014recurring patterns in political propaganda. Starting from a selection of <strong data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1155\">100 posters<\/strong> drawn from <strong data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1191\">Manifestipolitici.it<\/strong>, the Fondazione Gramsci Emilia-Romagna database that collects more than <strong data-start=\"1264\" data-end=\"1274\">17,000<\/strong> posters, leaflets, and postcards from 1850 to the present, the artists created <strong data-start=\"1354\" data-end=\"1372\">280 new images<\/strong> using generative AI: they look \u201creal,\u201d but they are not.\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1469\" data-end=\"1757\">Introduced by <strong data-start=\"1483\" data-end=\"1502\">Simona Granelli<\/strong>, artist <strong data-start=\"1511\" data-end=\"1529\">Chiara Moresco<\/strong>, artist and philosopher <strong data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1573\">Francesco D\u2019Isa<\/strong>, and legal scholar <strong data-start=\"1593\" data-end=\"1617\">Giusella Finocchiaro<\/strong> (University of Bologna) discussed the artistic approach, theoretical reflection, and legal framework.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-888d2a6 elementor-widget__width-auto elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"888d2a6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"70\" height=\"25\" src=\"https:\/\/sineglossa.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Barretta-gialla.svg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full wp-image-16904\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-be23d78 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"be23d78\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">From the visual archive to algorithmic generation<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d10101 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d10101\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"1814\" data-end=\"2163\">During the event, <strong data-start=\"1832\" data-end=\"1850\">Chiara Moresco<\/strong> illustrated the creative process behind the work: a <strong data-start=\"1903\" data-end=\"1938\">visual (non-thematic) selection<\/strong> of archival posters, reworked with <strong data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"1988\">MidJourney<\/strong>. But is that enough to define authorship?<\/p><p data-start=\"3067\" data-end=\"3577\">D\u2019Isa proposes a historical parallel with the invention of photography, recalling how at the time many thought the machine could replace the artist. And yet\u2014just as with AI today\u2014what matters is not the tool, but <strong data-start=\"3280\" data-end=\"3287\">how<\/strong> it is used. \u201cAIs often need to be <em data-start=\"3322\" data-end=\"3335\">\u2018sabotaged\u2019<\/em> to generate something truly interesting,\u201d he argues, highlighting that the contemporary author is also the one who selects, orchestrates, and intervenes, albeit within constraints imposed by the machine.<\/p><p data-start=\"3579\" data-end=\"3868\">Creativity, D\u2019Isa contends, cannot be considered exclusively a function internal to individual consciousness; it manifests as a <strong data-start=\"3707\" data-end=\"3756\">distributed, situated, and collective process<\/strong>, in dialogue with technologies, archives, contexts,
